Behind the scenes with the paradoxicalists The journey was tough but we manage to cross the finish line, Project Based Learning (PBL) is a project based type of learning where what we’ve been thought will be put into practice, one of which is the paradoxical website and paradoxical art movement including the artworks, along with the research paper. After days of all nighters before the deadline it is finally finished, our group made it as one of the finalists. During PBL there were sometimes we didn’t know what to do or panicking before the deadline, and many more. The blog section will talk about our experiences and journey throughout the first semester of PBL. The topic that will be discussed in this article is how we concluded the paradoxical art movement.

Around the time that we were finalizing on the art movement and website we encountered a tiny problem, one of which is the movements that we will use to combine and create the paradoxical movement, originally it was suppose to be fauvism, surrealism, and dada, however it was contradictory to the already existing movements. We tried different combinations to create the paradoxical movement such as pop art, dada, fauvism; surrealism, pop art, fauvism; we ended up with dada, surrealism, and pop art for the presentation. The first consultation or presentation to our teacher Ms. Marika, she suggested that we change surrealism to feminist art for our art movement. Searching about feminist art, our group got intrigued by the topics the movement tackles and since our group is all girls it adds more meaning as well on why we have feminist art in the combination of art movements to create the idea of paradoxical. paradoxical, or contradiction is the point of our groups art movement, mixing digital and traditional creating the unconventional the is the style of our art movement.

Learning through our experiences throughout this years PBL, setting schedules is important to communicate with other group members, while also managing our time with other individual assessments. This was a great learning experience none the less helping us achieve another step towards normalizing or adapting to the new normal.
