The Paradoxical Movement

The three pre-existing movements that inspired the Paradoxical Art Movement are Pop Art, Dada, and Feminist Art. First, with Pop Art being one of the art inspirations, the movement makes use of popular imagery from media as its subjects; second, Dada is basically the foundation of this movement as it aims to reflect its provocativeness through the deconstruction of photos; last, the Feminist Art movement motivated the intentions and agenda of Paradoxical Art to society. From the root word “paradox”, the concept of this movement is all about the combination of contradicting elements, concepts, and art styles. It features two varying art mediums: photographs and digital illustrations, specifically the cartoon style. With deconstructed images merged with solid and vibrant characters, this creates an unusual but surprisingly striking piece.
